As you may have heard, China made big changes to their financial system and currency regime in 2005. China's exports have become more expensive as a result of the increased value of its currency, as well as a substantial price increase in raw silk. While we try hard to keep our prices the lowest possible, continued increases in silk pricing along with recent rises in freight costs have forced us to add a price increase to some sizes of our bulk silk spools.

An economical alternative for dying your own ribbon, this medium quality silk ribbon from China is a great choice if you are on a budget. 2mm, 4mm and 7mm dye beautifully. Although 13mm and 32mm of these ribbons will accept dye, they seem to have some type of fabric softner applied to them which makes it a little more difficult for the dye to take as easily as we like, but still a great value.
